Hello, this is Miku. The other day, I visited for the first time an ohagi specialty store named "Masuda Ohagi" where various kinds of ohagi are sold.
こんにちは、みくです。先日、様々な種類のおはぎが販売されている「増田おはぎ」というおはぎ専門店に初めて行ってきました。
Ohagi is a traditional Japanese sweet. It is made from a sticky rice ball covered with sweet red bean paste and it looks like this.
おはぎは、日本の伝統的なお菓子です。もち米を丸めてあんこで包んだもので、このような見た目のものが多いです。
On the day I went there, there were 15 different kinds of colorful ohagi on display. I went to the main Kikusui store, but there are three other stores in and around Sapporo, and there are limited flavors of ohagi sold only at each store.
私が行った日には、15種類もの色とりどりのおはぎが並べられていました。私は、菊水本店に行きましたが、他にも札幌市内と近郊に三店舗お店があり、各店舗でしか売られていない限定のおはぎもあるそうです。
I heard that the most popular flavors are sometimes sold out. When I arrived, other customers were coming one after another. Recently, many customers go to the store because the main character in the morning drama serials broadcast on NHK* is the daughter of a Japanese sweets shop and ohagi often appears in the drama. NHK's morning drama has high ratings in Japan and is widely loved by the people, so I think many people are influenced by it.
人気の味は、売り切れることもあるそうで、私が行った時間にも続々と他のお客さんがやってきました。最近は、NHKの朝ドラで主人公が和菓子屋の娘でおはぎがよく登場することから、おはぎが食べたくなって買いに来るお客さんも多いそうです。NHKの朝ドラは、日本で高い視聴率を誇り、国民に広く愛されているドラマなので影響される人が多いのだと思います。

私は、小豆のおはぎと胡桃のおはぎを食べました。この写真は胡桃のおはぎです。
The normal ohagi had a delicate sweetness, and was tasty. The walnut ohagi contains black rice, and the petite texture of the black rice and the crunchy texture of the walnuts were interesting and delicious. There are many flavors that I didn't get to try this time, so I want to visit the place again to buy them.
小豆のおはぎは、今まで食べたことのあるおはぎよりも優しい甘さでおいしかったです。胡桃のおはぎは、中に入っているのが黒米で、黒米のプチプチ食感と胡桃のサクサク食感が面白くておいしかったです。今回食べられなかった味がたくさんあるので、また買いに行きたいです。
