I went to Noboribetsu Marine Park NIXE! In today’s blog, I would like to share with you some of the creatures I saw there.
登別マリンパークニクスに行ってきました！本日のブログでは、そこで見た可愛い生き物をいくつかご紹介したいと思います。
It was a sunny, cloudless, and hot day in late June, but in Noboribetsu Marine Park NIXE, I was able to enjoy a variety of entertainments, including a penguin parade, a dolphin show, a sea lion show, a sardine show, and the aquarium.
6月下旬、雲一つない晴天で少々暑い日でしたが、登別マリンパークニクスでは、ペンギンの行進やイルカショー、アシカショー、イワシショー、水族館など様々なエンターテインメントを楽しむことが出来ました。
The first thing I want to highlight is the hotei fish on the second floor of the Nix Castle (Aquarium). I fell in love with it at first sight with its attractive body shape and stood in front of it for about 10 minutes.
そんな中でも最初に注目したいのが、ニクス城内（水族館）2階にいた、「ホテイウオ」です。少し顔がブスですが、両手で掴みたくなるような背中の丸みが最高に可愛く、私はその饅頭の様な魅力的な体形に一目ぼれし、ホテイウオの前で約10分間立ち尽くしました。
In Hokkaido, hotei fish is called gokko, and it is said to be a valuable fish when cooked in hot pots or soup. You may have seen it in the seafood section in the supermarket.
北海道では「ゴッコ」と呼ばれ、鍋や、汁物に仕立てると絶品で重宝されている魚のようです。と、言われるとスーパーマーケットの魚介売り場で見たことがある気はしませんか？
Next is the crowd of sardines. I love sardines as sashimi and sushi, and the living sardines were so sparkling and beautiful. But what surprised me the most about the sardines was how scary their front faces were. As I stuck my head to the tank and stared at the sardines, I could see many of them with horrible faces that I wondered if they come to suck out my soul. If you have opportunities to see sardines, don't just pass by, drop by the tank.
次に、イワシの群れです。お刺身やお寿司としても大好きなイワシですが、生きているイワシの姿は、とてもキラキラしていて美しいものでした。しかし、最もイワシに関して驚いたことは、「イワシの正面顔」があまりにも恐ろしかったことです。水槽に張り付いてイワシを凝視していると、まるで魂を吸い取りにやってきたのかと思ってしまうほど恐ろしい顔のイワシを沢山見ることが出来ました。ぜひ、イワシの群れを見る機会がある時には、通り過ぎず、張り付いて見てみてくださいね。
Also, the penguin parade was very comforting. The parade of the king penguins and gentoo penguins was very interesting, especially the behavior of gentoo penguins. The keeper's explanation of the penguins was full of love for penguins that it moistened my parched heart due to Covid-19.
また、ペンギンの行進も、ペンギンがとても愛らしく心が安らぎました。オウサマペンギンとジェンツーペンギンの行進で、特に好奇心旺盛なジェンツーペンギンの行動はとても興味深かいものでした。飼育員の方のペンギンの説明がとてもペンギンへの愛が感じられて、コロナの影響で、干からびた私の心にも潤いを与えてくれました。
Get over Covid and go to see the animals!!
早くコロナを乗り越えて、動物に会いに行きましょうね。
